Author Topic: Graphics cards  (Read 909 times)

Hey guys, kind of limited internet for a bit, so i came to ask advice from you guys.
I need a graphics card that is decently good for this day and age under 250$.
I'm currently leaning towards a Nvidia card, unless you guys suggest otherwise.

The Nvidia GTX 460 or the AMD Radeon HD 6870. The 6870 is slightly better than the 460, but a bit more money. It's $210 I believe...

radeon 5750 HD?
microcenter had it for $165

When it comes to ATI vs nVidia with that kind of budget, either get the HD 6870 or a nVidia. The only ATIs that really win are the absolute most expensive ones so in your situation I would get a GTX460.

The AMD cards aren't made by ATI. They're made by AMD.

AMD only recently dropped the ATI branding. Most people still know and refer to them as ATI.

What are the rest of your specs?

Well i'm currently on a laptop but i'll post the rest in a few hours.

Here you go: BUMP.

baump, i'm looking at stuff now, it can use a PCI Express x16 slot.

I wouldn't spend too much with those specs. A 9800 or GTX 250 would be best. both are around $100 assuming that they will fit.

I couldn't tell you why, but I felt the need to do that.
