The Johnson M1914 was invented prior to WWII but could not compete with the M1 Garand. ( I think )
Alright fair enough.
The Johnson is not comparable to the Garand for the very reason that it's a Light Machine gun.
Garand was designed for longer distance shooting whereas the Johnson is an assault weapon.
