HELP WITH DEDICATED SERVER

I need massive help with the dedicated server thing. I know how to run it and set it up. But when I go on, change the map from bedroom to slate dark, leave, and rejoin, its still bedroom. Help me fix it! Also, I loaded a maze map and the events on it wouldn't work. Please help me solve this!
