back in 2008 we were making Canyon/Western/Space/MGS DMs to kill time between builds,

This I miss.

I remember being able to go on to a majority of servers just to see what quirky project they were working on.
For me they were the golden years.

Ontopic: I've seen quite a few Afghanistan TDMs in the server list. I don't see what is wrong with this whatsoever.

Well, Army Unit's MAS TeamDM used the Afghan DM build, but it was modified and enlarged.
