Author Topic: Oh dear, should I be worried about my computer?  (Read 302 times)

So I left it on all night, and today I exited a game of tf2 to be greeted by a blue screen. Upon starting up I was greeted with the normal computer screen that asks what mode you want to start it in. I picked normal, and my computer took just the slightest bit longer to boot up. My fan sounded funny but I restarted my computer after letting everything turn off (Listened to the fan) and it sounds normal now. Is there any precautions I should take?

The reason behind the longer startup was because of Windows probably having to recover some stuff.

Your PC probably just overheated, but I really doubt that it would have anything to do with keeping it on all night (I've kept my PC on for almost 833 hours so far, over a month, and never got an issue like this).

If it happens again, I'd look into having the thermal paste on the CPU (and possibly GPU) replaced.

Perhaps one of the fans fell out of place, but was popped back in after allowing it to stop running?
