Author Topic: Laptop Speakers not working  (Read 570 times)

Ever since I've gotten Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (In order to install Paint.net), my sound won't work. It happens time to time, usually fixed by a quick reset. After many attempts, I have no such luck. So I turn to you guys for help.

My laptop is a Sony VAIO CR120. I know, old as hell. If any of you can help me figure out what's wrong, It'd be really helpful.

I prepared an audio tape explaining how to fix it.

I see what you did there.

Did you try:

  • Ensuring the mixer is setup so no devices are muted
  • Uninstalling / reinstalling the device
  • Inserting headphones to see if its the sound card

In hardware management you can uninstall and reinstall some devices (in XP at least). I imagine the speakers are separate from the sound card.
