Author Topic: Computer randomly running slow, need some help  (Read 474 times)

Alright, so here's my problem:

It seems that sometimes, when I go to open my internet up, the forums (my homepage) takes about half an hour to load. I tested this amount on IE and Firefox.

It seems to happen after I open my email. No, I don't go into any of the spam folders.

Anyways, when I go to close out the freezing-up firefox, I have to click "End Process" at least 10 times for the process to end.

When I restart my computer (which fixes it), while the computer is shutting down, it has to end a program called NsAppShell::EventTimer. I'm pretty sure this is the problem. Stuff I think it could be:

Virus
VZW Download Assistant (I can plug my phone in and get updates)
???

Any help, forums?

tl;dr pretty sure something called NsAppShell::EventTimer is slowing down my internet, any help?

How much RAM do you have?

I think that's the right one, right?

Also, since I run TF2 fine, I'm not worried about RAM.

Oh yeah, your RAM is fine.
Apparently it's a Mozilla Firefox file. Let me search up some more on Google on how to fix this.

CTRL ALT DEL

Check what's eating up RAM and processor speed

End or look up on google

???

profit.

Nonono, I think it's because you have a bad add-on. You should disable them all or one by one to see which one it is that's doing this. Otherwise just reinstall Firefox.

Uninstalled bad-looking ones: Easy GIF Animator Toolbar, youtube2mp3, and RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin.

No idea why I got those.

I still have:
DownThemAll!
FireGestures
Java Console
Java quick Starter
McAffee SiteAdvisor
Microsoft .NET Framework.

Any of those bad?

Well, does that window still appear? If it does, it's still one of those in the list.
