Author Topic: Microsoft paint transparency  (Read 876 times)

Is there anyway to get a transparent color on Microsoft Paint? My other computer has like crashed and I'm on my mom's Vista computer.

Nope, try GIMP or Paint.net

There is no such thing.
First of all, MSPaint can only save as .bmp (maybe .jgp too? dunno), which can't be transparent (neither of them).

Actually, Paint has always been able to save in various formats, just never has had the ability to save transparency even if the source image already had it.

Oh well, I can't download anything on this because it takes forever + my mom doesn't want to download anything.

And gif and png.

I don't remember being able to save as .png, hm.
And it can't open transparency, either.
It turns all the trans to black, just like BLF if the image is more than 75x75.

That.
With GIMP, you have to add an alpha channel for trans, and it is complicated in many more ways.
With PDN, eraser makes trans, and it's highly simple.
EXPLAIN YOURSELF.

Paint.net is easier, get the forget out.

GIMP:
1. Go through start up process where it takes a minute to load up.
2. Add alpha channel.
3. Erase where you want it trans.
4. Save.

PDN:
1. Wait less than ten seconds for it to start up.
2. Erase.
3. Save.
