Nvidia Graphics Card Framerate Problem

After updating my graphics card after not doing so after a year or so and the latest update forgeted my framerate up (down to 1-4 FPS) on all graphics intensive applications. I tried downgrading to update 260.99 but no luck. I also updated my Vista (yes, Vista is part of the problem so now you can't say it) service pack 2 but to no avail. Im thinking of re-updating now that I have service pack 2. Please help. I have a GeForce 8500 GT (it's 2 years old I know, I need to upgrade).

The only suggestion I have is roll back your drivers by uninstalling current ones completely with a driver uninstalling program and reinstalling old ones.

It's not uncommon for people to have problems with new drivers.
