I would contribute but the graphics card i was going to recommend takes nearly half the budget.

Watercooling still uses fans...

Ok, so you have a copy of Windows 7 then to choose?  Can you link me?

I'm also building this with a max budget of 2k USD on newegg.

$1500

No OS included, since you found yourself a decent deal for it.  Make sure its 64-bit and also not an "Upgrade" version.

For your budget you could do alot better than that. I would start by shaving off the $50 mouse and getting a different set of speakers (those are very expensive what you're getting) and then getting a cheaper monitor.  The power supply is good but you could get one that works just as well for around $100. The i5-2500k is basically the same thing as the 2300 but it's just clocked higher (it doesn't make a big difference) and more expensive. A 1.5tb harddrive is pretty unnecessary. You could probably do fine with a 1tb and perhaps a 40gb SSD for your OS (by god don't get the 160). In the end that would probably save you about $250 which you could use to get a graphics card that should be used for a budget as high as yours. Perhaps the 570 or maybe even something better.

What graphics card would you suggest?

I'd be able to suggest one but I would first want to rebuild the whole thing from scratch to get an idea of much money you can spare on one.

I have the 2600k. I figured while I was at it I mine as well get the best of the best. I also do a lot of modelling and rendering so the hyper threading comes in handy.

It also is clocked an extra 100 mhz, and while that's not much for 100 dollars more, it does allow you to overclock higher. Some can pass 5 Ghz.

Though I'm staying at 4 Ghz until I get an aftermarket cooler.
