That's why if you're going to mess around with fire, you have to to it right.
Firstly, why the forget would to do it in your house? Don't.
You need to do it on something that isn't flammable, such as concrete. Your driveway, street, or a sandbox, if you have one, will work.
You also should have a bucket of sand or water, in case you can't put it out with something else.
That's all I can think of right now, but I'm sure you can't forget anything up unless you're actively trying.
