You know, I suggest California...there's a good number of people already in CA, it's not very far for Texans, and there are plenty of good places to meet up. Oh and also good weather.

CA is closer to Badspot, I have family in CA so I know my parents wouldn't mind me flying down there, as long as they could go and visit people and do other stuff.

You have to consider that most parents feel the farther away an event is, the less likely they want their kid to go. Don't you think there's a difference between going a state away, and going across the country?
