Not able to record with Fraps in Blockland

So for some reason beyond my knowledge, I cannot record with Fraps in Blockland because the instant I press the "start recording" key on my keyboard, my framerate in Blockland drops from ~70-90 to 4. This is really loving weird because I can record in Fraps in much more graphically intensive games just fine, such as Portal, Portal 2, and Left 4 Dead. Any reason(s) why this would be happening?

blockland requires a super high end computer that can run everything perfectly smooth, obviously.

Fraps is the biggest CPU whore ever but it still shouldn't be lagging with a case like this.

Sometimes setting the framerate capture higher actually helps for god knows why.

One. Its your computer - I don't see why, seeing as I can record in much more graphically intensive games just fine, like I said.

2. Did you check the movie FPS options? - I set the number of FPS to record at to as low as 20 FPS, it still doesn't work.

3. Reinstalling fraps? - Haven't tried this but I doubt it would work.

4. Turning down quality? - Haven't tried this either, might work.

5. Turning down game resolution? Haven't tried this either, might work.

Thats all I could think off.

EDIT: K so I just tried turning down all the quality settings to the lowest, framerate was still 4 when recording. I also tried setting the resolution to lowest of 640 x 480, framerate was 9 (hooray 5 more frames per second).

Tried setting that to 60 FPS, still recording at 4.
