Author Topic: Issue with new Graphics Card  (Read 808 times)

Alright, here's my problem:

I have a new graphics card installed in my computer. When I go to plug the monitor wire in, however, I don't see anything on the screen. I can still hear it starting up, it just won't recognize the graphics card, only the default one.

 Any help?

Perhaps it's the monitor, not the graphics card

It's definitely not the monitor, that works fine.

I'm thinking your old graphics card's drivers are still installed, and are conflicting with your new graphics card.

Put your old graphics card back in, use this to get rid of your old drivers.  Then go ahead and just download (but do not install) your new graphics drivers and leave it on your desktop or something.  Turn off the computer, plug in new graphics card / take out old graphics card, boot up, and install new drivers.

Just saying, currently, both graphics cards are in, and the old one is the default one. This'll still work?

Did you switch inputs/outputs?

Like from digital to brown townog or vice versa?

If so, then there is a button/switch somewhere to change the input.

If not, then:

Is it after it boots into Windows or completely nothing?

Just completely nothing.

Also, bump.

Did you successfully connect it to the correct PCI slot?

Set the default graphical device to PCI-E on the bios.
