Author Topic: Moving to Argentina in a week  (Read 471 times)

Some of you might know this, but I'm moving to Buenos Aires next week. I'll be living there for 3 years :u. Anyways, I can't really bring alot of electronics since the voltage there could fry my stuff.

So yeah, any ideas on what I should do when I get there?

Discuss.

Buy a transformer?
As in not the robots?

Buy one of those voltage converter things?

Buy a transformer. I lived in Europe for 4 years and I ordered all of my electronics from the states, but I ran them all off of a 2200V-1600V transformer, and it was pretty awesome. Also keep in mind that PC stuff is universal, flip the red switch on the back of your PC to change between different voltages, and software isn't region-protected like DVDs and console games are, and they'll all run on your computer.

So, how many appliances can one transformer hold, or does it depend on the model?

Get one and connect it to one of those 6-exit extension cords.

Isn't argentina poor? If so buy as much stuff as you can with your current money.

Argentina is one of the richer South American countries

Mine had one 3 pronged outlet, but I plugged some power strips into it and ran a GameCube, a 20-inch television, an Xbox, a Playstation 2, a Desktop PC and CRT Monitor, a sound system, my GBA charger, a DVD player, and an N64. It will be able to power pretty much everything, but it gets hot as forget. There were a couple times that I was scared it was going to just have a meltdown or something because it would get too hot to handle without wearing like oven mitts or something.

Argentina is like all white, think of it as California except with less Mexicans.
