Author Topic: Why are these Itunes MPEG-4 files "protected"? And can I remove it?  (Read 381 times)

I am trying to import songs into the game AudioSurf, but its like they are not even there. The game excepts MPEG-4 and every other song on my iTunes library, but nothing even thinks the song exists. the entire Indestructible album is protected, but not any other one.

Is there a way to remove this protection? I have tried everything I know.

They're protected because the record companies think you're going to start a black market trade off their songs.

You can burn them to a CD and they will be unprotected mp3 files if I remember correctly.  This is why I usually just buy the CDs instead of using iTunes or whatever stupid "protection" based song distributor.

I buy individual songs from e-music.

They don't have as big as a selection as iTunes, but the songs are usually cheaper and not as protected. Also, it's just as legal as iTunes.
