Author Topic: Co-Op Medieval RPG [Dragons up and running! Video soon!]  (Read 1514 times)

Apologies for bad banner, I didn't feel like working that hard on it. Might fix later.

Yup, I made another. Will it be hosted? Most unlikely. But I like making these posts, anyways.

What is this?
To be honest, its not much of a medieval RPG. Its more of a TDM, but with a twist.
Players are attempting to leave the island. They do this by collecting resources while the guards protect them from monsters. Whoever collects enough resources first constructs a ship, therefore winning the game.

What do you mean by guards?
Each team has classes, all the same type, just with different weapons. The classes are:
Mage - specializes in magical weaponry, spells and stuff. No melee.
Ranger - specializes in ranged weaponry, bows, crossbows, throwing knifes. Weak melee.
Warrior - specializes in melee weaponry, swords, axes, bludgeons. No ranged. Strong melee.
Worker - specializes in getting resources for the team. Pickaxe and axe only, can do no damage.

Keep in mind, once you choose your class, you can not change it for the rest of the round. You are stuck as that class, so be sure to consult with your team before choosing a class. Won't do you much good if everyone's a warrior.

How does the resource system work?
Trees and ore is all there is at the moment, and there is only one section of the map. In future updates, I'll make it so once you  make a ship, you'll go to a different area.
The only person who can get resources are workers. To make things interesting, there is very little resources, making it nigh impossible to get some undisturbed. The point of that is so that teams are forced to fight for the resource places. You could win the game just by holding off the other team from the resources.

So its just player versus player?
Nope.avi. Monster bro, bots made to kill people, regardless of team. These include:
Goblins
Dragons (Edited so they are now bots and will attack people, its so cool in game.)
Cave dwellers
Shades
Night reapers (Don't try, its near impossible to kill one of these guys...)

There are also NPC's, which are basically guys who will offer tips and help to fight monsters, if paid of course.

To sum it all up...
For all you people who don't like reading, this is the gist of it:
  • Resource system
  • 2 teams
  • Win by making a ship
  • Classes, mage, ranger, warrior, worker
  • Monsters that are rare during the day, but plentiful during the night

As always constructive criticism is welcome. That does not include telling me that I made a spelling error on my banner. *cough*Demian*cough*

Do I smell Minecraft???

First again! :D

i like the idea, quite original for Blockland, (at least from what i've seen) i hope this turns out great because i want to play it.

I was actually thinking about making the trees break in chunks like minecraft.

If it gets hosted. Which it most likely wont.

I have sworn a sacred oath to kill with fire anyone that spells the word "medieval" incorrectly. Shall I get the torch or will you willingly set yourself on fire?

I'm swede.
I shouldn't be the one to complain about spelling failures.

Fix that logo or I'll..
...get the torch

Bump for huge page update.

Are you still doing the "APPLY FOR STORY" thing?

Um, well, now that you mention it, I guess I could write another for this one.
