Author Topic: A little bit of History Coursework troubles  (Read 441 times)

As none of you may know, I am studying History at my school and I've received a bit of coursework of which i'm unsure about. Let's make this clear - yes I'm asking the Blockland Forums to help me with my coursework. I'm not the first one. :D

I have about 3 paragraphes of information so far, but it's not nearly enough to hand in obviously. The question the coursework is revolved around is "Was fear of communism the most important reason for the restriction on immigration in the USA, 1920?"

I'm aiming for about an A so I need to give about two examples of things which "led to the restriction in the number of immigrants being allowed to enter the USA". I can't be biased and I need to explain things in full detail...which is probably a given. I've touched up on the Red Scare so far. If anyone here thinks they know anything about this sort of stuff, please do help me. If I'm missing out any information, let me know. Please don't punch me.

I believe it was the fear of disease and the ridding of the isolationist nation we were beforehand.  I don't think it had anything to do with this new concept of "Communism" because Communism became the scare from 1940 - Present.  The Bolsheviks didn't kill Trotsky until the 1930's and I believe and that's when stuff hit the fan.

Hope that helps.

My teacher actually told us it had something to do with communism beforehand, but we need more than a single reason :s
