how do i make face decals?

i made a face decal for myself but how do i do that transparent thing so the colors of my face show up not just white

Use GIMP, Photoshop, or Paint.NET-

I dunno how in GIMP.
In Photoshop, when you make a new canvas, set it to transparent instead of white.
In Paint.NET, delete the background before drawing.

If you can't get it working then post it and I'll add transparency.

You can also use Macromedia Fireworks.

heres how i do it in gimp:

create a new image
Layer->Delete Layer
Layer->New Layer
make sure Transparency is selected
OK
draw some stuff

photoshop and paintshop pro are both costly pro programs
try crappy GIMP
or stuffty Paint.net
