Danger?

Tornadoes
Hurricanes

Author Topic: Tornadoes vs. Hurricanes [Tornado and Hurricane Megathread]  (Read 996 times)

Tornadoes are spiral storms that can attain wind speeds of 300mph or more under correct conditions. They move fast and tear through everything in their paths. They last about 10-20 minutes, and only occur in some parts of the US, i.e Tornado Alley and the Southeast.

Hurricanes are also prevalent in the Southeast, but spawn from water instead of just bad storms. Hurricanes last for days and can cause great damage, but just aren't as fast or destructive as tornadoes. They are, however, FAR bigger and last FAR longer, making them just as great a danger. Tornado winds reach speeds of up to 160-170mph, meaning tornadoes are about twice as fast.

As my mom puts it, "Tornadoes are small, but they slam the crap out of you. Hurricanes reach far but just hit you a bunch of times."

My question, Blockland, is this:
Which is more dangerous and why?

You can use the windwaker to control the tornadoes I thought.

Tornadoes are short-term but can really do some damage
Hurricanes last a while and can do alot of flooding and other stuff

I love watching Tornadoes on TV and online, but I saw one in real life I would soil my pants.

Georgia gets tornadoes all the time in the beginning of summer.
The builders of our house also said "Screw basements" when they made our house. We're like the only house in my neighborhood with no loving basement.
So we huddle in the tiny bathroom in the middle of the house. I get EXTREME claustrophobia.

Both can be equally dangerous and destructive.

Look at Hurricane Andrew, then look at the tornado that hit Joplin, Missouri. Both were equally destructive, and both killed hundreds.
