Oh loving great. Yesterday my computer's updates failed, one of which WAS A VITAL DRIVER, stuff then hit the fan and the others failed. I told my mom this, and a few hours and phone calls later, we have to get a new loving Internet adapter. So we did, and that fixed everything. Then it happened AGAIN, after I put the computer to sleep, and it's still forgeted up it's ass and now the monitor is falling asleep every 15 seconds. I did a virus sweep early into this, it isn't that. Anyone know what the unholy forget is happening to my PC?

This is just a idea but did you check your power supply if it is not working it could cause this

one more thing if your on a older computer updates may take a long time

You get blue screen when your adapter connects to internet? If so, delete your computer off the network on your router and let it connect. My old XP had that problem, I was amazed it was caused by the router settings. If your computer crashes right off, Safe Mode without Networking and turn off auto-connect.

if your power supply is broke then the computer won't turn on at all

If your power supply is faulty it will cut the power at strange intervals.

Restarted. Several times. The computer is only about a year old, dunno why it would fail. My mom has suggested wiping the HD, and that might be the only way. It has t crashed either, but it wil randomly make the adapter drivers fail and then deny permmission to access the driver CD.

a total reformat could help. it usually does.
hardware failure on the 1st year of a prebuilt isnt likely, but can happen. get that stuff in while your warranty is still good.
