Author Topic: Microsoft is being a bitch  (Read 543 times)

Ok so my friend's xbox got fried via lightning strike. He shipped it back for replacement and they denied his request because a sticker on the back was missing. They accused him of tampering with the Xbox.

So my suggestion was to forge the sticker and send it back and say, "I found the sticker Lawl"

But anyway, discuss

They're not being a bitch

it voids the warranty and anything else if the sticker is removed, and it's your friends fault for tampering with the sticker/internals.

I bet he tried to fix it himself one time or mod it inside. Serves him right.

If he bought it used or something like that, it's his fault for not looking for the sticker before purchasing.

How an Xbox would be fried via lightning strike in the first place is just beyond me.

This is true but he claims he didn't touch the sticker. He takes very good care of his stuff. Plus he bought it new.

But it's his word against yours and since I haven't actually seen anything I guess both of you could be right.

Power goes out and over charges into the XBox.

Also, you're handicapped.

Forging the sticker would probably just serve to get you in legal trouble, not to mention you of course wouldn't be able to.

Here's my solution: Don't get an XBOX, they're notorious for breaking and don't have as good console-exclusive games as the PS3.

I don't believe that as I've never heard someone buying an xbox and the sticker already being tampered with.

If not him (which probably is, I mean come on, who else would touch it?) someone must have done something to it and if he doesn't know who touches his electronics lol, that's his fault once again.

already been stated by Taboo, but

If a transformer or power pole is hit, the voltage surge could come through any wire that is mounted on that pole and fry your delecate electronics

kill yourself or go away

Get out.

Your friend is pretty much screwed with a voided warranty.

I void warranties all the time, lol.

Unless the xbox is just forgeted up, he can take it apart now that it's warranty is already voided, figure out what's fried (for instance, my disk drive got fried before) and just buy a replacement. That's what I did and it worked fine after that for 2+ years until I sold it to a friend

but now I have another one anyway

I'll suggest this to him
