Author Topic: Music >1mb  (Read 737 times)

I recently converted one of my favorite songs into an ogg/vorbis audio file and added it to my music list, but it gave me a console error:
ERROR: (songhere) > 1mb, ignoring

Is there a way to raise the song filesize limit to 2.6 kb or higher? I know that this would cause massive loading times for ppl joining my server, but i would have a message on server join asking them to download it beforehand from a certain link or something...

Can someone please help?

You should only have this problem if you convert whole songs.
You should be converting short loops instead.

Its not a short loop its a longer loop. Like about a minute or just over. Super Paper Mario: Gloam Valley. Go look it up. It doesnt have the intro clip edge at beginning, so it loops perfectly. I wish there was a way around this, gloam valley is groovy, and the music would rock for an area i am workin on.

Save it in a lower quality?

Idk. The current file size is just over 2.5mb. Hmm... How long does it take an average 500k file to fully loop? How about a 1mb file?

Depends on the quality you save it in and a few other things
One of the default songs, After School Special, is 1:15, and is 625kb

Hmm... Maybe i left the Stereo sound on? Ill take a look.

If it's stereo it deletes it.

Yeah but it would still raise the filesize by a truckload unless ogg files cannot be stereo.

The ogg format itself supports stereo.
However if you want to be music in Blockland, it needs to be mono.

Open your music file, go to save as, and somewhere it should have an option to reduce the quality

ok, i will post you back if this dont work.
