Author Topic: Help with Blank DVD  (Read 1161 times)

It seems every time I format it space is taken up. The 4.7 GB DVD now only has 996 MB free with no files on it. Help?

I'll be sure to ban him from my server.
Is it a one write dvd?

Oh wrong section. My bad, Will someone move this?

wrong section

would go better in off-topic

this is for blockland drama, ex. people spamming you to hell in a server

You are formatting a DVD? Could you be more specific.

Supposed to be in off topic, but if its one of those re-writeable DVD's you might as well not use them at all.  I don't know, I've had the same problem where I'd pull files off it and try to clear it and it would just stay stuck at 500mb left.  I guess they're not really rewriteable, but I've heard that there are some that are truly rewriteable.

A DVD-RW is re-writable. Files that you may have trouble removing are those with broken permissions. Do not clear it with formats like Fat32 or NTFS, they are designed for partitions and disks, not optical media. You are asking for trouble if you try to clear it that way.

That is a DVD-R, not a DVD-RW or a DVD+RW. This means that you can't edit or delete the data from it, only write new data. So you can't reclaim any space.

I think you should ban blank dvd.
