well, it's either that he's been shy or that he simply hasn't liked anyone. i can understand the first one but the latter i can't. i'm just basing this off personal experience.

No, regular girls, sometimes cheerleaders. Just, in my area, many girls actually aren't into the relationship thing.

Usually, a girl would try to get close to you. Talk about interests or news. If you have something in common or an interest, that will spark interest to her and she'll most likely consider you a friend or something more.
