Author Topic: NVIDIA GTX 580 3-way SLI vs NVIDIA GTX 590 SLI (GPU)  (Read 1955 times)

3 GTX 580

2 GTX 590

So for the past couple of months I've been saving up money everyday, I had enough to upgrade the core components in my computer. Now I can't choose between GTX 580 3-way SLI or GTX 590 SLI.

Facts I know:

2 GTX 590 will outperform the 3 GTX 580, because even with 3 of them, they will use a lot of watts and will need more cooling...blah blah. But its more affordable.

2 GTX 590 are recommended for 3D gaming. But are still efficient in running at high FPS for modern games.

If anything, I might either go with 1 GTX 590 or 2 GTX 580. With the extra money I can buy a new monitor, but whatever. And NO I will not be buying a 3D monitor or 3D stuff because I hate it.

I already asked these questions on a lot of different forums, like tom's hardware, but got no replies. So please, help me out.

Both setups would be absurd. Unless you have 3 2560x1600 monitors (which would also cost a rediculous amount) they won't help you at all. With a 1920x1200 monitor you should be able to max every game with a single 580. Save your money and buy a single 580 or if you have a 2560x1600 monitor then get the 590.
