Money isn't everything, I don't see how anyone could go through life just getting by with money.  Doing what I love is better than doing what other people want me to do.

I'd like to see you do what you love while you're flat broke. Unless you look washing windshields at an intersection, or mooching off friends.

Money may not be everything, but in this day and age, everything else that is important will be easily possible if you have some source of income. Unfortunately for many people, their source of income isn't what they love to do. I hope you make the right decision to actually get a good education, so you can open up the possibilities and at least have a feasible opportunity to do what you love, and get payed well for it.

And doing your own thing and not doing what people want you to do is 10x easier when you have money.

get a job that you love to do so you get paid to have fun

i love flying my goat across the jungle and listening to queen, i can do that without any cash.

>electricity to pay for thing to listen to queen with
>thing to listen to queen with
>flying

I'm sorry to say you might need some cash.

I am in IB

Don't even start complaining.

I did a 500 word essay for my summer assignment about symbolism in the Death of Ivan Ilych, it actually added up to over 600 words for everything I typed and it only took me like 2 days to write despite all my other summer work. Plus I had the equivalent of AP Euro History in my Freshman year and got a 4 out of 5 on the AP test.

It's not that hard.

What do I love, Trifax?  You tell me, because you seem to know.  Being flat broke is better than being with someone who only loves you for your salary.  Having a high-paying job only makes you vulnerable to women like that.  I plan on getting a degree in Animal Science.  I don't care if I don't own the nicest car or the hottest woman.  I care about doing what I love and you can't change that.

Not everyone can have your sharpened intellect.

I don't know what you love (well, now I do, I guess). I'm not saying you have to have the nicest car and everything to be happy and that you should only live for that. It's that, when you have money, you have options. You can afford to fix your average car when some starfishs hits it. You can afford trips to the doctor when you're sick. You can afford to support your family (if you choose to have one).

If you don't have any money, instead of working on your degree in Animal Science, you would be busy with late fees, and, hell, lots of stuff that nobody should have to deal with.

As for the women issue, I guarantee it will be easily identifiable if a girl is just into you for your money. You have to keep an eye out for them if you do have money, and what kinda girl you have is up to your discretion. I'm not delving into that, because you simply have a very naive view of what comes with money.

I'm not trying to attack you here, Hydra. You seem unclear on that. I'm trying to tell you that getting your degree in Animal Science and doing what you love will be so much easier if you have money. Please take that the right way, once again, I'm not trying to attack you. I'm trying to get you out of that mindset of "I don't need money, I just need a dream!" because frankly: that's bullstuff. You can have a dream all you want, but you also have to have the work ethic to get that dream fulfilled, and you need income to fund your way. Because stuff happens, whether you want it to or not, and if you aren't prepared to get that stuff solved, you're going to fall back and never reach your dream. I want everyone to reach their dream, and do what they love. It makes people better. Including you.

ha, i'm only in honors biology and english.

You're right, Trifax.  Thanks for the advice.

<3 Any time.

In my personal finance class, we played this: http://playspent.org/

Try it, it kind of illustrates everything that can happen and how you have to deal with it living off of your last 1,000 bucks. Give it a shot.

My record is finishing with 300. I'm also going to post a topic with it.

Oh, and it's funny to see how that explanation flipped you around:
It's the fact that you're trying to start stuff with me.  You aren't my father, I don't need your advice.
