what does it mean when people have italicized names in the Online list at the bottom of the home page?

I think it was where we used to have an option to hide our profiles, but since it was taken out some people still have their names like that

A redundant feature of the forums was to hide your online status but it doesn't work.
You just appear italicized.

It means their account is hidden

Their activities can't be viewed in the list where it shows what everyone's doing.
