Author Topic: Add-on problems - All of my add-ons break when I install ones from the forums.  (Read 1350 times)

I have a problem.

I've had this problem years ago, around the time I first started BL. I've finally had the time (And memory) to talk about this. Here goes.

Title explains it. Whenever I DL an add-on from the forums, EVERYTHING stops working. I can change my avatar and all that... But that's it. No decals either. I have to re-install BL to fix this. Ever since then I found RTB and stuck with it.

Help.

do you install them correctly? ie, putting them in the addons folder without extracting or changing them

I'm not exactly sure, I was... Hmm...8 when this would happen? I think I might have done something completley wrong. I'll try to install add-ons on another comp, and if it works, well hey. I'm not doing it to my main comp because I don't want to take that risk.

Don't extract them, also make sure your putting them in addons, not base or anything like that.

In v8 didnt you have to extract?

Just wondering

You might have too many add-ons enabled.

Also, update.

I had the time to try on the other comp, I think I got it right because all the default add-ons didn't break, but BL crashes at objects. It's probably the comp, because BL isn't very good on a 7 year old XP that has 8/7ths of it's programs drained.

Can you post the console log please? We've been working on a project at ScatteredSpace and we keep running into a similar problem with our server.

If it was years ago you were probably playing in V8. To install add-ons all you have to do is put the .zip file that you downloaded into Blockland/Add-Ons and enable it in-game.

Ah, so I did the right thing on my desktop.

So should I risk it on my regular comp?
