I am not sure why anyone is trying to use speed as an argument to use another browser.
Tests have been done. They're microscopic, and usually unmeasurable, differences.
If you really need to get a different browser just because of speed differences, then I think it's time for a new computer.
Don't even try to include connection speeds in this argument. No browser can say "lol hey <your ISP here> gimme more sped plz"

I use firefox. It does not seem slow to me at all. I have tried Chrome. I noticed no difference aside:
-Different interface that I was not familiar with.
-It can translate pages.
-There is a toy that squeaks.
