Author Topic: Youtube, are you serious?  (Read 533 times)

I've just bought fraps and signed me up for a youtube account. I've recorded a tutorial on Blockland for how to do that technique back in V9 of how to make mini trees. When I'm in the uploading section it still says Still Uploading so I kinda panic a little cuz I think the video I recorded isn't compatible with youtube. But then it starts the load.. In a way that is more depressing than not even being able to load. My upload progress is waaay too long. It seem like it will take more 3 hours and 40 minutes until its done. And thats like 220 minutes o_o. Seriously how does all of the youtube people make all these videos and it seems like they were done in a snap. Shouldn't it take like a very long time to make it? I don't get how they are fine with this. This is kinda boring.

Do you realize that Youtube hemorrhages money and Google has to foot the billion-dollar bandwidth bill for something that doesn't make them any money? Just be happy the thing is still around and you can still upload videos that will never be watched for free.

It's your internet connection.  If you have like a T1 line, your uploads would take like a few minutes.

try compressing your video?

fraps videos are pretty loving huge.

Fraps creates horrible video sizes. Search google for techniques to lower the video size.

what I do is I publish it right quick in movie maker and upload it after. it seems to go faster.

You need to encode and compress the video using a third-party program

youtube may hemmorage money, but google stuffs out solid gold plated diamond.
