Author Topic: Do you think humans will ever harness the power of Nuclear Fusion?  (Read 3042 times)

We've got cold fusion which is like meh

when we get to warm fusion, stuff get's real

That's it, the pretty much only one.  Though that looks more like a particle accelerator.
How do you think fusion is achieved?

It is a particle accelerator that accelerates hydrogen till it smashes into another one, in simple terms.

Harnessing nuclear fusion is really easy.

You take a solar panel and pow!

EDIT: Plants have been doing it forever.

Electrolysis is fission I thought, with hydrogen and helium splitting out of a compound?

Electrolysis is just rearranging the atoms in molecules without affecting the actual structure of an atom.

Most experts predict Fusion power will be commercially available by 2050.

I heard the people working on the prototype say 2040, though that was nearly 5-6 years ago, before the recession really took hold.

Most of the money being funded for Fusion research comes from the European Union.

And considering the fact that Europe is forgeted, I can see why the date was moved up 10 years. :P
