Thing is, the topics you're referring to are rarly as stupid as you make them out to be, and much better than many of the other types of threads which get posted here.
I'd rather have someone explain why their life is terriable than say, another pony thread, or the next stuffty fad, or some really unorigional spammy snake related forum 'game'.
