Author Topic: A Mansion - - - *WIP*  (Read 1798 times)

Here's a mansion I've been working on this weekend. I plan on doing all of the flooring and furnishing first, then the exterior walls, and finally the interior walls.

Here is the dining room - the most recently finished room.

Here is the kitchen - first room that was completed.

Here is a birds-eye view.

It looks good so far.  Although I wouldn't build in in the order that you are.

The island in the kitchen looks a little wonky.

I think the chairs don't fit.

Ive never heard of anyone making the interior first and the exterior after, unless of course they had a bunch of premade interior stuff and just copypastad it into the build.

Everything is a bit too boxy for my liking (Refrigerator, Stove(?), Counter...)

But I think it's neat that you start with the interior stuff before making the walls and outside.  I doubt you'll find a lack of room to put things this way - and I should start doing this myself.

Edit:

Thanks Nexus for beating me by a few seconds.  Thanks.

Imagine if real houses were built like this.

lol

Three bathrooms for one floor?

You put objects that would otherwise be mounted on the wall, floating in air as you build?
I have....never seen that before in my years of building..

But as a build, its not bad at all.
It just seems like you saved and loaded it without all the brick packs used, enabled.

I've never seen anyone do the interior before the exterior :O
Looks good!

That's now you get your interior to fit into the exterior. Build the interior first.

Probably a good idea, when I think about it. I always end up having good exteriors, but the interior is ugly. I end up having weird problems such as the room sectioning, the roof is too low, the windows are inconveniently placed etc..
I might try this technique sometime.

Nice work so far.  Can't say I've ever seen anyone build the interior of a building first, makes sense though.

I'm good at interior, but suck at exterior. I should try this sometime.
