Author Topic: I wish people would learn how to install thing properly.  (Read 4316 times)

Couldn't some form of hash-check be added when downloading shapes, to see if the same model exists already, but in a different directory?

OR Badspot could have a system much like Stepmania, where instead of unzipping and putting stuff where it goes, you double click the 'smzip' file and it knows where everything goes.

So when someone has a mod, lets say it's a ball.
Model = add-ons/shapes/ball.dts
Texture = add-ons/shapes/ball.jpg

You would zip it, drag it to a 'Blockland Mod Maker.exe', and it would create a simple 'BLzip' file that whenever it gets run, it extracts the files to the right place.

That also was a thought of mine, but one things that is important are the path's used in scripts, they could get messed up by that method I think.

Well, it should also have a uninstaller for mods.

but he would need to make the program to open the blzip and you dont drag the program just makes you find the junk and you need .cs too

I'm sure that after 3 pages Badspot will have thought of a *somewhat* better idea than the rest of us. Not saying they're all bad ideas, I think the contrary, but he is the proffesional.  :cookieMonster:

And I lose track of good topics when the page number is bigger than 3  :panda:
