Here's a good idea what a brain illusion is
And here's an optical one

A brain illusion is interacting with something with help of your (totally not misguided) brain, or something along these lines. Such as the rubber hand trick: get a realistic rubberhand, hide your real one under a table, have your friend help you fool your brain into thinking the rubber hand is in fact your real one, then have him hit the rubber hand with a hammer and OWWWW because your brain is convinced the rubber hand is real.

An optical illusion is an image or a something, that fools your eyes somehow.

That's pretty cool. If only I could find a rubber hand somewhere....
