Author Topic: Somehow disabled my headset -- how undo  (Read 634 times)

I disabled my headset for some reason and I need it back.  I am running windows 7.  Do any of you guys know the process of finding and re enabling it?

You are going to have to be more specific

You are going to have to be more specific
>Disabled headset via little sound thing in corner
+(right clicked and disabled, I wanted to use monitor sound for something)
>Now wanting to use it again, but when I search my computer for it it's not there
+(Only place I notice it is in my audio manager, and it's just showing that something is plugged in)

Is that any more help?

Wait hold on.  I disabled it in the sound menu in control panel

Got to recording devices in right click.
Double click mic.
forget with the settings

>rightclick volume thing
>Click "Sounds"
>Go to "Playback" tab
>Rightclick in the white space where the audio stuff is listed
>Make sure "Show Disabled Devices" is checked
>It should be there
>Enable it

Or, control panel > sound, and right click on it and select enable.

Just FYI, this topic was unneeded as we have the Computer Megathread for this exact purpose.

Yeah, but sometimes Show Disabled Devices is unchecked.

>rightclick volume thing
>Click "Sounds"
>Go to "Playback" tab
>Rightclick in the white space where the audio stuff is listed

>Enable it
