loving love film production, I've filmed some stuff before, but this guy is a total mess.
I respect and love your life career choice. Just this guy does it all wrong.
Technically, he is doing it right I hate to tell you. The proper way to film anything is to re-shoot anything even if it is perfect. As I have seen many many many times when I go back and edit any film I create for a class I always end up running short of a time frame on the clip or the audio won't trim the way I want so I could always use an entirely new clip to start from or choose between in case the camera decides to forget up or you notice a flaw in it. Overall this technique would be called shingling as your average camera for videos include mini dv tapes which are mini vcr tapes if you'd like old technology or what, that's whats commonly used in the news, movie what not field. So learn to live with this fact of the video world that you will encounter this if you preferably go more in depth on video work what not.
