Author Topic: Aspects of my City RP I need aided with  (Read 843 times)

I made this topic to discuss what additions to aspects should be added to my Uber City RP.  Such aspects are crimes, jobs, resources, and so forth.  Forgot to mention this is all done with events.

At the moment, I have figured out resources and jobs, but now I'm stuck on crimes and jailing.

Crime

I will eventually have an epiphany on how to event crimes, but until then I need specifications to the crimes.  Examples are robbery and murder.  Below are listed the crimes that I plan on making possible in the RP.  If you see any crimes that I missed that are possible in City RP event wise, ie no matricide or rape, tell me here and if I can figure out how to make it work, I'll include it.

Jobs

At the moment, I have only made the miner, axeman (lumberjack) and hunter.  Soon I'm gunna add fisherman to the list and so the bottom, blue-collar social class should be done unless I want to add more jobs.  I have a plan of jobs I'm going to add.  Again, see any I missed?

I need a way so that once someone reaches like 400 demerits, they are releported to the jail cell.  The best way I have just thought of would be when the demerits reach 400, that players spawn point will change and if he is killed, he respawns as an inmate.

God, thats like two lines of events, not counting adding demerits.

Then you have to set it so that the brick he transformed to becomes his spawn and that he becomes an inmate and sets a new outfit and gives pickaxe and so on.  It'll be a lot more than just two lines to make it as specific as I want it.

They get distributed to where ever they go once they click the door.

I don't see why you don't just download the gamemode and edit it. Adding jobs and new features is generally easy.

That would become too many events on one brick to keep track of.  Now, when the player chooses a job, he gets set a spawn o a brick where he needs to be to play the game.

Sure jobs may be easy to add with a gamemode, but I'm doing more than that.  All RP mods I have ever tried suck balls, RP Core came close to not sucking but it didn't have real estate and my game would freeze when I would try to start a game.  I'm adding real-estate, jobs that can now have more freedom than before, I'm adding better crime systems, more fluent leveling systems.  I'm adding better quality all around, things found here that normal mod-based city RPs wouldn't have.

ok, so ive figured out the Jailing thing- set a brick called Spawn_Jail as their checkpoint.  Ive made breaking and entering, murder, started on robery from stores, and have thoughts about auto theft.  And ive added Fisherman to lower class, and started efforts on the Pizza Shop line and Ice Cream Man line (someone made an ice cream shop and i saaid "meh, why not") that will be part of the middle class.

I really need to know how to do a thing.  Like the City RP Mods of the past, there has been the message that comes up for like the bank.  "Would you like to... 1)Deposit money 2)Withdraw money 3) deposit all money" Is what it would say.  Im wondering if anyone has seen, made, or heard of a server mod or way to make this occur with events without using an RP mod?

If this is made, ill think about adding a feature to the City RP, something by the name of the Stock Market, if any of you have heard of it.  And yes, just like the real world, it will be a bitch of a thing.

also, farming will be added soon and i was going to use onvehicleleave zone bricks to clear an 8x8 plot of 1x1 5 height bricks as the crops.  But farming plots are large and the individual plotting would cause for a lot of naming and eventing i dont want to do so is there a way  to do it more easily?
Ive figured to try relay events on these and see waht happens.

Ok, ive figured out the banking system-I'm using Varlinks and onchat events.  Unfortunately, I've run into a dilemma.  I made the 'Deposit Money' for the banking system, saved the game, and quit blockland.  The next day, when I loaded everything up, I wasn't able to do the Deposit money system.  With a little messing around with the events, I was able to get them to work again, but for one click.  Then it stopped working.  My events strain is below.  If anyone knows why it won't work, tell me here please.
