What OS are you running?
FYI the max that XP can run is 9. Any more than that will yield strange problems. >.>
Also, to update to the latest, just enable Windows Update.

I downloaded DirectX last night
need to update Java next
I like it because it has a farely decent graphics card but the GPU isnt very good at all :C
Its kinda slow
but it runs all my games on max settings fine

Pretty much any game nowadays installs stuff it needs to run. At least on Steam.

No, you said the graphics card is good but the GPU is bad. They are the same thing. Then you said it runs so slows but all your games run fine. You are not making sense.

You don't need to download DirectX, it's already built into Windows and I don't think you actually understand what DirectX does.

Just update Windows and you'll get it. Games often install any extra components they need as well. Most games these days still only use the functionality of DirectX 9 anyway.
