You're speaking for yourself, Minnesota requires you taking an economics class.

Economics/Government, US History 1 & 2 are the only social studies required nationally. However, it takes 4 social studies credits to graduate most schools, so you have to take an additional social studies class that can be pretty much anything you want.

OP has yet to name the class though, so I've no idea what he's taking.
