It's simple to fix a cord, no need to buy a new thing over that. But yeah, cats are quite stubborn and once they've made chewing/clawing/destroying some thing a habit, they won't stop anytime soon, so you need to keep your headphones away from your cat. If you stop using them, put them on some high shelf or something.
