My parents find favorism a stupid concept and if anyone would ever find out they aren't the favorite in a family where they do use it I can think of it to be devastating.

The older doesn't need the same kind of care. They should be able to handle not being treated as well, whereas a younger one would whine a lot. I'm the youngest in my family, anyway, even if I'm 18 now.
