Adobe After Effects CS5.5 rendering halp

So I've made my video all squiffy and whatnot in After Effects, but after I render it the final video isn't in the destination. Detailed explanation: I add all my effects to my video, I set it to render as .AVI in the folder desktop/example/, I open desktop/example/ while the video is rendering, I can see myvideo.avi in the folder, the movie finishes rendering, myvideo.avi disappears from desktop/example/. Please halp, I don't know why this is happening and it's pretty annoying.

Bump ;-;. Any input would be nice, like if some uses After Effects how do you render your stuph and what happens?

You have permissions for the folder? Try in Documents folder.

Well it's working again even though I tried doing it the same way I always have. Not gonna question it. Oh well. Locking.
