Author Topic: Could This computer run a 99 player server?  (Read 436 times)

I would like to know, with these specs, could I run a 99 player server?

Intel Xeon X5690 (3.46ghz, 12 Core)
32GB of RAM (ECC, and the motherboard supports 192GB)
Three 1TB Hard drive (Set up in Raid 0 or 1, doesnt matter, or no raid at all, which is better?)
A Cheap integrated Matrox graphics card (G200e)
Windows Server 2011 (Or standard win7)

Here are my internet download/upload speeds:

I know the upload speed is pretty slow but I figured it will be faster if I were to run the test with the specs listed above.
Does anybody know if I could run a 99 player server? (I want to make sure before I spend money)

Didn't I just answer this in a PM you sent?

Second of all, you need 1.67GB to reach 99 players, excluding OS overhead.

Upload may be good enough, depends if you actually get 6.3mbps steadily.

I sent this to you but I was hoping for more than just 1 person to give me an answer. Thanks though! (I had no idea you only needed 1.67gb for a 99 player server, how can I give more?)

Navigate to NT headers, then File Header.

Click where it says "click here" under characteristics, then check "App can handle >2GB address space", and then save.

Note that the launcher will replace the EXE each time.
I doubt you would even need a reason to do this.

I have no idea what you just said...

You won't need to do that anyway.
