Author Topic: my computer is acting strange.  (Read 507 times)

For the past week my computer has acted a bit strange. This is most notable with the task manager. I have noticed that when I close processes. They sometimes just freeze and freeze my task manager. The programs aren't viruses and have never done this before. I've done multipple scans and haven't found anything. At first nothing else freezes. Just tsk mgr and said program. But it seems to get worse after a bit of usage and more things begin to freeze. Any clue to why this is happening?  Sorry for typos I'm using my phone.

Corruption in System32.exe, probably.

Processes hmmm? How about this, push "Windows key + R", and type msconfig. Here, you can remove startup programs and such. So you don't have to fiddle with task manager.

Tip: Remember to push the button that says "Hide all windows programs" just to make sure your not shutting off anything important.

I wouldn't rule it out. A lot of viruses that I've rid of recently. So operating disk time I'm guessing.

Delete system32

Probably something you can't access is running in there.
Yeah better do ODT
Operation Disk Time.

I'm not 100% how to repair and I've notice my setup is kinda gankyy. I updated it and it wouldn't finish the update so I had to restart that and I skipped the update this time. But I have a feeling that it will do this again after it finishes upgrading which I believe is how you repair but it has been forever since I last did that.

I can't seem to find out how to just use the disk to repair crap anymore... it just takes me to this stuffty menu that scanned for startup errors which I don't have any problems with. I really wish I could get my windows firewall back along with fixing this freezing issue.
