Author Topic: Guys, I'm getting wireless timeouts and DNS errors  (Read 435 times)

It started earlier this afternoon, I noticed that the internet's connection was getting spotty in terms of a reliable connection. I was on Steam at the time, so it Steam would often go offline. Soon after that I went to use my PS3 (which connects to the internet by ethernet), and I noticed that it kept logging me out of PSN because of DNS errors (it can't connect to the server).

PS3/PSN connections have been spotty for a little while now, and sometimes wireless networks will just stop working, until another network of the same name will appear. But until today it hasn't been this consistant in terms of no connection. I've checked my router a few times, unplugged and replugged a few cords, reset the router, checked the ethernet cables ect ect. All to no success.
My ISP services 1 Megabit/s through DSL, but I'm not sure if this has any effect on it.
Because of all the DNS errors, I'm thinking that the ISP might be the one who is causing this. I'll make sure to contact them tomarrow unless any of you have advice.

Is there any chance that I could have gotten DDoS'd?

That's what I'm supposed to be getting? I'm gonna march right down to the Comcast building and complain my ass off.

You people are handicapped.
I also can't get Comcast because I live so far away.

It's probably just a problem with your modem/service providers, stuff like this happened to me all the time, IInet can suck my bottom.

If you haven't figured it out yet, open a command prompt (Windows Key + R, type cmd and hit enter).

Type ipconfig /all and hit enter. Copy and paste the results.
