Spaceguy's TDM mod still works for me. I had this issue a little while ago. I changed some settings in the minigames menu and got it to work, i dont know which options exactly but some things you may want to try are:
Unchecking any option for Zombies
Making sure that you set the team sorting to Sort, the default setting is off.
Maybe making sure that the option at the top of the minigame menu where it says "use spawn bricks" or something
That's all i got. Maybe try out Slayer, I haven't tried it yet but it is supposed to be better.
