Author Topic: Computer freezes about 15 to 20 minutes after startup  (Read 585 times)

Yesterday, while I was talking to somebody on Skype, my computer froze. I couldn't move the mouse, or ACD. So I manually restarted. After doing so, about 15 minutes after it reached the desktop, it froze once more. I rebooted manually, but instead opened it in safe mode. I left it there for an hour without incident, so I restarted back into Windows. Get to the desktop, half an hour later I freeze once more. By this time, it's about 10:45, so I turn it off once more, thinking that my computer is just getting too hot. I leave it this way overnight, and when I wake up in the morning, I started it up so I could print out a school paper. For 15 minutes, it worked well. I left it idle so I could go brush my teeth and comb my hair for about 5 minutes. I come back so I could browse the forums, and once again, it's frozen. I shut it down, and left for school. I am posting this on the bus from my phone. I have run two full virus scans with Kaspersky. Any ideas?

what anti-virus do you have?

Sounds like a heating problem

I forgot to mention that I was monitoring my computer with a heat probe, and it was maintaining normal tempurature. I'm heading home, so I'm gonna turn it on and take it easy with it and log how long it takes to freeze, or if it doesn't freeze at all.

Try getting the dust off the PC

I like Kaspersky antivirus, I did a factory reset on my computer and it vanished though.
