well, yes, I know it's technically extremely far away and it's not like it would ever collide with earth, but there's something about having such a massive object frequently visible in the sky. (the sun is different for some reason)

Because it's a flamboyant planet and the moon doesn't share the same feelings for Earth as it does to the moon.
